Hi, I’m Lindsey, and I’m an Associate Professor of History and the Director of Graduate Public History at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. I regularly teach courses in undergraduate and graduate public history methods and U.S. history. I work with students to produce a range of projects with methods including oral history, historical GIS, digital storytelling, and more!
I am working on a manuscript entitled, On a Mission: Making Latino Space through Art and Activism. This project explores Latino community formation in the Mission District of San Francisco and examines how this creates a space for gentrification. I am also involved with a variety of public history projects, many in collaboration with students at St. Mary’s University.
I earned my Ph.D. in History from the University of Notre Dame in 2016 before completing a postdoctoral fellowship there in 2016-2017. I received M.A.’s in History from the University of Notre Dame and Northern Arizona University, and I earned a B.A. in History with a secondary teaching certification at Grand Valley State University.
